Michigan Rep. Paul Mitchell has recently announced that he will be changing his party affiliation from Republican to Independent because of “President Donald Trump’s refusal to concede the 2020 presidential election and more.”
Mitchell went onto CNN and stated his feelings saying, “This election simply confirms for me that it’s all about power first, and that, frankly, is disgusting and demoralizing.”

It’s quite suspicious that he is now dropping the Republican Party after the Electoral College verified Joe Biden. He could potentially be scared of the blowback the Republicans might receive now that a Democrat is President-elect.
