The congressional seat of Bronx and Queens that is currently being held by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is about to be contested. The former CNBC anchor Michelle Caruso-Cabrera has recently filed to run for Congress in New York’s 14th district opposite of Ocasio-Cortez.
Caruso-Cabrera said, “I am the daughter and granddaughter of working class Italian and Cuban immigrants. I am so lucky to have had such a wonderful career and I want everybody to have the opportunity that I’ve had. That’s why I’m running.”
Ocasio-Cortez is considered the most leftwing member in Congress and her ideals have often clashed with Republicans, so if she does get unseated, a change for the good could happen.
